Kurikulum Merdeka: Kurikulum Berorientasi Masa Depan

Abstract
The Merdeka Curriculum is the latest initiative in the Indonesian education system which is designed to answer global challenges and current developments. This article aims to analyze the concept, implementation and implications of the Independent Curriculum as a future-oriented curriculum. This research uses a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study and document analysis approach. Data was obtained from various sources, including official government documents, academic articles, as well as reports on the implementation of the Independent Curriculum in various educational institutions. The research results show that the Merdeka Curriculum offers learning flexibility, focuses on developing 21st century competencies, and provides space for students to explore their interests and potential. However, the implementation of this curriculum faces challenges, such as the readiness of teaching staff, supporting facilities, and gaps in understanding in various regions. With continuous improvement and support, it is hoped that the Independent Curriculum will be able to become the foundation for education that is relevant and adaptive to future needs.
