Analisis Rekonseptualisasi Pendidikan Karakter Berbasis Nilai-nilai Islam dalam Surat Al-Jumuah

Abstract

Broadly speaking, Surah Al-Jumu‘ah presents a comprehensive educational framework encompassing educators, learners, instructional content, methods, and transformative goals. Accordingly, the surah provides a relevant Qur’anic foundation for reconceptualizing character education based on Islamic religious values. This study employs a qualitative library research design. Data were collected through document analysis and examined using descriptive analysis. The findings propose a reconceptualization of character education as an integrated and progressive process. The model begins with the introduction of divine values through tilāwah (recitation of Qur’anic verses), followed by the cultivation of the inner self and moral character through tazkiyah (purification and moral development), and subsequently the development of knowledge and wisdom through ta‘līm al-kitāb wa al-ḥikmah (teaching the Book and Wisdom). The process culminates in the practical enactment of character, particularly in balancing spiritual obligations and worldly affairs, as illustrated by the observance of Friday prayer and engagement in commercial activities. This model encompasses three interrelated domains: the cognitive domain (knowledge), the affective domain (attitudes and inner moral development), and the psychomotor domain (the practical enactment of wise conduct). These domains resonate with contemporary character education frameworks that emphasize moral knowing, moral feeling, and moral action. This study contributes to the conceptual development of Islamic character education and offers implications for designing approaches, systems, and implementation programs grounded in Islamic religious values.
