Abstract
Al-Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad in Arabic by the angel Gabriel, using a rich variety of languages. About the Koran and its contents. He explains the meaning and content of the Qur'an, especially in relation to verses that are not understood and whose meaning is obscure. Asbab an-nuzul is an event or event in which verses of the Qur'an were revealed to answer, explain and resolve the problems arising from the event. The Qur'an is recommended to guide humanity towards a clear goal, a straight path, to tell what has happened, what is happening now, and what is to come. Asbabn Nuzul occupies an important place in the study of Ulumul al-Quran. Asbabun nuzul is the background that causes Allah subhanahu wa ta’ala to send down a revelation to the Prophet Muhammad. Some of the editorial forms of asbabun nuzul are clear and some are still probable. Meanwhile, when viewed in terms of the number of causes and verses that came down, it is divided into: ta'addud al-asbab wa al-nazil wahid and ta'addud an-nazil wa al-asbab wahid. Knowing asbabun nuzul is a must for anyone who wants to understand the contents of a verse.
